The Month of Elul
~ The Month of Elul ~ 1 - 29 Elul 5785 / August 25 - September 22, 2025 Events
Elul; it is a time Jewish tradition notes 'The King Is In The Field', a time when the king is near, a time of repentance and special divine mercy. A time to deepen the recognition of our relationship with our Maker.
Great Jewish sages reflect this time when ‘the King is in the field’ as a picture of a great and powerful king who pays a surprise visit to his subjects as they are working in their fields.
To the average man, the king is very inaccessible; away in his palace, distant and removed. Never does he dream he will actually see the king, let alone speak with him. But then one day, while bent over his menial labor in the field, the man feels a gentle tap on his shoulder… as he turns around to his amazement, it is the great king himself standing over him. He has come to visit, explaining that his desire to be close to his loyal subjects, to learn of their situation and give them the opportunity to ask for their needs.

The shofar (ram's horn) is blown every morning for the month of Elul (except Shabbat) to awaken us to the upcoming High Holy Days, to draw closer to El Shaddai (God Almighty).
The last full month of summer is Elul. It is a period of repentance leading up to the Day of Atonement.
Jewish tradition places the beginning of this at Elul 1. The event is recorded in Exodus 34 where Moses spent a second 40-day period on on Mt. Sinai preparing the 2nd set of tablets achieving complete forgiveness for the people of Israel after the sin of the golden calf. When atonement was competed he descended.
The final 10-day period is known as The Days of Awe; a time of introspection, seeking reconciliation with people you have wronged (Kapparot). Hence the final day is Yom Kippur.

A Biblical Parallel 1 Thessalonians 4:16 - 17
"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel,

The Greek word used for 'caught up' is Strong's #G 726 ἁρπάζω harpázō, har-pad'-zo; from a derivative of G138; to seize (in various applications):—catch (away, up), pluck, pull, take (by force).
~ Harpazo in the Latin is 'rapturo' where we get the English word 'rapture'.
Elul (אלול) is said to be "The Month Of The Bride". It is an acronym for אני לדודי ודודי לי, “I am for my beloved and my beloved is for me," Song of Solomon 6:3
Constellation Virgo, in Hebrew is 'Betulah', "virgin" or "maiden" (zodiac placement is August 23 - September 22)

- "Popular Judaism regards Rosh Hashanah as the date of Creation of the universe by God (Talmud: Rosh Hashanah 27a), but the Midrash notes that it occurred six day earlier on the 25 of Elul, when God created the Divine light by saying, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3) ~ Hebrew4Christians.com

- Feast of Trumpets also known as Yom Hamelech 'The Day of the King' begins at sundown
- Jewish traditions include wishing each other a sweet year, ending interactions that they would be “written and sealed for good" [in the Book of Life]
Of consideration, this nova may be the 'Star of Jacob' Bala'am described as presaging the appearance of the Messiah

Coronae Borealis ( Northern Crown )
T CrB Known As The Blaze Star Is One Of Seven Stars Within This Crown.

Coronae Borealis ~ 7 Stars
- Scientists predict a recurring nova in the star system Coronae Borealis. The 4th brightest star, also known as the Blaze Star (T CrB),is expected to be visible from Earth by Sept. 28, 2024/Jewish date 25 Elul 5784.
- A nova, meaning 'new' (is a temporary brightening of a star before it fades again). It does not die. It is not a supernova which occurs when a massive star explodes at the end of its life.
- T CrB, a binary star system; is made up of a red giant and a white dwarf which orbit each other every 227.6 days and belongs to the spectral type M3III.
- It is est. 2,000 - 2,630 light - years from Earth.
- It has a magnitude of about 10 -10.8, however reached 2.0 on May 12, 866 & 3.0 on Feb. 9, 1946. It is believed it will appear 1,500 times brighter than usual.
- It undergoes a nova process once every 80 years.
T CrB ~ The Blaze Star
Consider this symbolism with the words from Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
And from John in Revelation 1:5b "To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,"
The Red Giant symbolizing our sins and His blood. And the white dwarf symbolizing the LORD taking our sins. The earth-size white dwarf slowly strips hydrogen away from the red giant. When enough hydrogen accumulates on the white dwarf, the growing pressure and heat triggers a thermonuclear blast visible from Earth.
This had to have happened at least 2000 years ago for it to come to earth at this time and to be on THIS day when the LORD God said 'Let there be light.' How amazing is this!
Add to that this nova explosion happens once every 80 years. It is a once in a lifetime event, generation after generation from the beginning! Apparently we are at the end of a significant generation.
